Meet Your Teacher
I've been playing piano since childhood and have spent over 30 years performing and 25 years teaching piano, guitar, brass, and wind instruments — in both private studios and public schools.
My training includes music performance studies in brass and piano at the Long Beach Conservatory, where I studied under Christy Eberhardt Stewart, concert pianist with the Long Beach Symphony. I was accepted into Baylor Music Academy. I hold a Master's Degree in Education, a California State Teaching Credential, and a B.A. in Psychology from CSU San Marcos — a background that deeply informs how I teach and connect with young learners.
I currently serve as Music Director at First Baptist Church of Oceanside.

What happens in the first lesson?
The first lesson is all about getting to know your child! We'll explore their musical interests, assess their current skill level, and set some fun, achievable goals. It's relaxed and low-pressure — the goal is simply to get your child excited about learning.
How do you work with very young beginners?
Young learners are our specialty! For students ages 3–7, lessons are kept short, playful, and engaging, using games, songs, and activities designed to build foundational skills while keeping it fun. Every child learns differently, and we meet them exactly where they are.
How often should my child practice at home?F
or beginners, even 10–15 minutes of daily practice makes a big difference. Consistency matters more than long sessions. We'll give your child clear, simple practice goals after every lesson so they always know exactly what to work on.
What if my child has never touched an instrument before?
No experience necessary — that's what we're here for! We welcome complete beginners and love introducing students to music for the very first time.
